Digitalization is becoming imperative for Western governments in terms of reducing administrative burdens and improving the quality of interactions between citizens and the state. This project focuses specifically on the use of big data by law enforcement agencies. The digital transformation of the police has taken many forms and
bears different epistemologies, ranging from simple implementations of technological systems for digital data collection and aggregation to predictive-policing software for crime forecasting and biometric recognition systems for border and population control.
