Ioanna Motschan-Armen: The mathematical modeling of biological cells

In this talk, I will share two topics from my PhD in computational mathematics, both centered on modeling biological cells. The first involves stochastic partial differential equations on a sphere, modeling dynamic surfaces like cell membranes. The second examines electropermeabilization (EP), where short electric pulses increase membrane permeability to deliver drugs. Since EP's mechanisms are unclear, numerical simulations are key to understanding these processes.
