Beskrivning
SUNRISE, which stands for Sustainable Nuclear Energy Research in Sweden, focuses on designing, analyzing safety, developing materials, and qualifying a lead-cooled small modular reactor (SMR) to be constructed in Oskarshamn. Project partners include KTH Royal Institute of Technology, LTU Luleå University of Technology, and Uppsala University. SMRs offer an attractive avenue for advancing nuclear power. Coupled with a Generation IV nuclear reactor type, these SMRs can enhance safety, economics, sustainability, and non-proliferation goals.
