Beskrivning
For nearly 50 years, Morocco has occupied parts of Western Sahara (Västsahara) - not yet decolonized. The issue is on the UN table, but in the Security Council, major powers have their own interests. About 180,000 Saharawis have been living in refugee camps since 1975.
In the occupied part of Western Sahara, the people demanding their legal right to self-determination and independence are being persecuted and detained.
Morocco stops journalists from visiting Western Sahara.
This occupation damages the West's credibility in terms of international law and threatens stability in the the world.
