Beskrivning
Plastics are indispensable materials in our daily lives. They are materials used in several applications from the packaging we use, to store food, to toys we play with and electronics we rely on. However, the convenience of plastics comes at a cost.
Predominantly derived from fossil resources, plastics pose a big challenge because of their persistence in our environment for long periods causing drastic pollution problems. In this way, exploring the potential of natural-derived and biodegradable plastics has become a feasible reality.
This workshop aims to address this issue by introducing students to the concept of sustainable and functional materials derived from natural resources like potatoes incorporated with additives recovered from food waste. This workshop is perfect for students curious about the importance of eco-friendly plastics and their role in shaping a more sustainable future.
No prior knowledge is required – just bring your enthusiasm and be ready to explore the greener side of science!
The workshop will be conducted in English but Swedish students are available.
